Sweater Weather Fall Tag

Hello, hello, my friends! The season of autumn is upon us. Technically. It hasn’t arrived where I live, and when it does the actual weather will be short-lived. I still love to enjoy the season though, and one way to do that is to do an autumn post. So here is a tag about Fall! Hooray! Anywho, I wasn’t technically tagged, Deborah @ The Road of a Writer  (Thanks, Deborah!) openly tagged everyone who wanted to, and I want to. So here goes.

 Favorite Candle Scent?

Hmmm… Considering they are all amazing, that’s hard to answer. I mean, I’m a candle-holic. But I have an amazing one that has no label, I think it’s vanilla soy beeswax something or other, and it’s spectacular!

7b4bb4477bd080d9c4af00b5ad0619fbCoffee, Tea, or Hot Chocolate?

Ooooooh… Hot chocolate on a day that really reads autumn, but tea on other occasions.

My Love Song (The Hopeless Romantic)What’s the best Fall memory you have?

Ooh almost any Thanksgiving memories. I love Thanksgiving. Also those days where it would rain really hard and my siblings and I would go play in a ditch we called The River for hours in the cold. We would then come inside, take a hot shower, hang our wet clothes by our pipe stove, and drink hot chocolate and eat graham crackers and such. Oh and drawing on the windows for ages in the frost. Ah to be six again!

*Edited November 2014-Got a new camera and updated pictures! First of all, I am so sorry for the lack of posts!! The past month has been a whirlwind, and I have so many recipes to share with you. S...

Best Fragrance for Fall?

Vanilla, apple (anything apple, but especially pie!), pumpkin, and all the smells of cooking and baking!

Favorite Thanksgiving Food?

Hmmm…. Artichoke with the amazing sauce my mom makes. My uncle’s mince meat pie. NOT REALLY! I hate mince meat pie. I’m not real big on any of the ‘staples’ of the Thanksgiving meal, but we have appetizer traditions to please any stomach. I love little smokies (beef), and the french onion dip, etc. And our family has a Thanksgiving Dessert Contest so there’s always something new and amazing for that part!

What is Autumn Weather like where you Live?

Warm. It’s usually not ’til early November we actually feel the breezes or drizzles that ring reminiscent of Fall. And that only lasts a little past Thanksgiving, but we enjoy it while it’s here by lighting all the candles and running around in the rain 😀

Most Worn Hoodie?

Well, shame on me, but I don’t hardly ever wear hoodies. Or really much warm clothing, but I do have a nice sweater, that’s a lovely gray and pink that I like to wear if it’s cold enough.

10 Ways to Prep for Fall - Lowe's Creative Ideas

Football Games or Jumping in Piles of Leaves?

We don’t even have tv. I mean, we have a television, but not like signal tv or whatever that is called. And we’re not real big into sports. But on the other hand, I was always the one kid I knew who really did NOT enjoy jumping in piles of leaves. It would take ages to get the twigs and leaves out of my clothes and hair, and there would always be pokey big sticks. Also, my expectation was something of the feeling of jumping into a cloud and little leaves fluttering up all around me, and that was never how it felt. I still love the idea of it though.

Skinny Jeans or Leggings?

Well if it actually got cold here, I would say leggings. You can wear them around home or cover up with a skirt while out and about and look so cute and feel so cozy, but since it’s warm here, skinny jeans.

Combat Boots or Uggs?

Neither! But Uggs if I must. But there are many other kinds of boots I would choose before either of those.

Love offering He Put her in a pumpkin shell and there he kept her and loved her very well. :):
Not sure why I’m including this. Perhaps it’s to say, instead of eating pumpkins, we should just let little adorable mice make cute houses out of them.

Is Pumpkin Spice Worth the Hype?

I’m NOT a pumpkin food person. I hate pumpkin pie, and most other pumpkin related foods. except for chocolate pumpkin bread, only if my sister makes it, and only if it has chocolate chips. (Hint, hint, sister, please make some this year!)

Favorite Fall Tv Show?

Not sure what that means… is there specific shows for Fall?

What Song Really gets You in the Mood for Fall?

Huh. I don’t know… maybe Slice by Five For Fighting, just because it mentions pie (not actual pie you eat, but ok.) and it’s a feel good old timey song. Oh, and Kitchen by Craig Morgan.

What Do you Want to be for Halloween?

We don’t do Halloween, but if I were to dress up, I’ve always wanted to dress up as Alice from the movie, Alice in Wonderland (2010). Or someone who gets to wear a ballgown.

Hats or Scarves?

What’s your #1 Favorite thing about Fall?

Thanksgiving and just the feeling in the air!

My Silver Screen

So I decided to do a movie post. I know, I know, typical, but they are common for a reason. They’re easy and fun to write, and they’re fun to read. So read on to find out what’s on my silver screen.

Introduction of 3-D movies at the Paramount Theater in Hollywood, California (1952) • photo: J. R. Eyerman / LIFE Magazine:

Eight Favorites (These aren’t my TOP EIGHT, they’re just some that are in my top 30 or so, and, they’re not in order of favorites.)

  • MARY POPPINS: Not only is she, but the movie itself is “practically perfect in every way”. Delightful. Happy. Emotional. Musical. Funny. What else do you need? There wasn’t even a romance and it’s still one of the best movies in the universe.

“Childhood slips like sand through a sieve… and all too soon they’ve grown up, and then they’ve flown.”

Mary Poppins:

  • SOUL SURFER: Wow, this movie was a lot to take in. I loved it the first time I watched it, but I had to watch it several more times before I truly understood how wonderful it is.

“Love is bigger than any tidal wave and more powerful than any fear.”

  • PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (This is the 2005 version I am talking about, by the way): You all know why I love it. It’s odd that I do though, I really don’t like Darcy’s actor, or Kiera Knightly very much at all, but this is a fabulous movie. I especially like Jane and Bingly, but I even like Kiera, she did a good job in her role. And Mr. Collins is just… oh gosh, the weirdest!

“It’s been many years since I had such an exemplary vegetable.”

pride and prejudice | Tumblr:

  • CINDERELLA (2015): What an incredibly beautiful movie. I actually find it a tad bit boring, but it’s so lovely. I love Prince Kit, and the King, and their relationship. The costumes, etc. Everything was just wonderful.

“Where there is kindness, there is goodness and where there is goodness, there is magic.”

“Just because its what IS done doesn’t mean it’s what SHOULD be done.”

  • THE PATRIOT: Not suggesting this movie for people who would have to see it without filters. But if you take out the language and violence, it is one of the most emotional movies I have ever seen. I love the movies/books that take place during the Revolutionary war, but this is so real, and so touching. The romance, action, and story arks are fantastic. This movie is one of those (there’s quite a handful, actually) that are so special to me, I can only watch them every few years, with the right people, at the right time, in the right circumstance, when I’m in the right mood. Not to mention it has Mel Gibson and Heath Ledger.

“I have long feared that my sins would return to visit me and the cost is more than I can bear.”

  • CHRONICLES OF NARNIA: THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE: Does this one need any explanation? I’m sure you all love it, too. This is in my top three favorite movies of all time.

“It’s our sister, sir.”

“The weeping girl.”

“Yes, sir, she’s upset.”

“Hence the weeping.”

  • YOU CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU: You might not have heard of/seen this one, but it is a classic. Jimmy Stewart and Jean Arthur. Jimmy Stewart is my favorite actor, and it has some other ‘goodies’ from the ol’ days, too. The story line, the fun, the ending, all of it is just so light-hearted and nice.

“Just a lovely, average girl.”

“That’s all I want.”

  • CAPTAIN AMERICA: I feel a little stupid for having a superhero movie on the list, but, at least it’s one that’s set in the 1940’s and has morals and all. Not only is Steve pretty much dreamy, but he actually has standards, etc.

“We stand up for what we believe, no matter the odds or consequences.”

  •  In case you’re curious, my favorite Disney Princess movies are Tangled and Beauty and the Beast. (And Enchanted if you count that)
  • The Bourne movies and Air Force One are my favorite action type movies.
  • The Island and The Giver are my favorite ‘futuristic’ movies.
  • Age of Addeline, You’ve Got Mail, and Return to Me are my favorite ‘chick flicks/romances.
  • Oh, and From Time to Time, Kicking and Screaming, Prince of EgyptLittle Women, and Kung Fu Panda are some other great movies.

So, yep, that’s a brief (I’m sure it didn’t seem brief, but it was for me, I mean, you get me talking and I talk) overview of my tastes in movies. Hope you liked it.

So did you like any of these movies? What are a few of your favorites? Did you like the quotes and pictures I chose?
