Summer Wrap Up

I’ve had a great summer. There were, of course, ups and downs. But overall I had a great time.

Worst Thing that Happened to Me

I seriously sprained my ankle and was laid up in bed for about two and a half weeks. Of course there were pros, such as watching TV and being spoiled. But after a couple days I was so tired of being in bed all day.

About half a week after I was able to get off crutches, my parents, sister, and I went to Idaho, and stayed with a congregation that my sister was going on a mission trip with. There I ‘jogged’ a 5k, and I had a hard time, with my freshly healed ankle. After our time in Idaho, we drove to the Grand Tetons, an amazing place. Certain parts of the mountain range looked a little like it was out of Lord of the Rings. We had a great time. We went to Yellowstone for a day and saw Old Faithful erupt, and much to our dismay, it wasn’t all that fantastic. On one of our hikes in the Tetons, we say that old famous cabin that there are so many photographs of. That was pretty amazing. The town of Jackson Hole, where we stayed, was very cute with lots of wonderful little shops and some pretty darn good food.

Reminder; I didn’t take these pictures.

Swimming, enough?

Along with being gone, my ankle injury, and overall laziness, I didn’t swim near as much as I wanted to this year. I’m very white, and my hair didn’t get a shade lighter or greenish like it usually does.

Watermelon or Strawberries?

Lol, I had to add in a random question. Although, I love watermelon, it’s strawberries, of course!

A Few Random Little Things

This was my summer of Superheroes. I had seen a few random ones last year, but this year I watched a lot. I’m not like crazy about them, but I did certainly enjoy them, for the most part. You would probably be able to guess who my favorite is. Captain America, of course (at least as far as marvel goes. Batman is my favorite DC).

I got a several paintings done this summer, so I’m happy with that. Here’s one I did, probably my favorite that I did this summer.

Oh, and my tolerance for animals was strengthened. I’m not an animal person, but I’ve gotten a little better at not being disgusted or grumpy at them. I can be perfectly civilized with them.

Camp/Visiting/More Visiting

So after some little fun things, such as bowling, bike rides, and a birthday, I had a really, really amazing trip. I went to a Youth Camp that I attended last year, a lot of my best friends are there, so it was terrific seeing everyone again. After camp, I went home with some of my friends, and I had a truly terrific time. We went to the beach twice, and the beaches there, compared to where I live, are amazing, sunny, perfect weather, and big waves.

They also took me to an amusement park, and that was totally incredible. I had never been on a real roller coaster, so it was quite an experience. I loved it.

After having a wonderful week at that family’s home, I went to another friend’s house. We had a very nice time, watched lots of TV, and had some really yummy frozen yogurt.

My parents missed me, and they missed my sister who had gone on her own spectacular adventure, too and we missed them. It was good to finally get home.

When I got home, just a few weeks ago, I was exhausted, but exactly a week afterwards it was time to head off for our family’s vacation. We stayed in an interesting, hobbit-like cottage/cabin. We went to the beach there, too, and it was really different than the previous two I had been to, but still any beach is better than no beach.

The last day we were there, we went to an incredibly interesting, not nice, but interesting restaurant on a pier, like an old pier, with piles of buoys, ropes, etc. It was like out of a movie. There were tons of seagulls, boats, and other sea life around. It wasn’t very sanitary, there was a lot of seagull… ahem drops, and the seagulls landed on nearby tables, making noises loudly. The food was fish and chips or burgers, and I wasn’t impressed with either.  But it was a really cool experience.

After that we went to a gorgeous garden. You could see the ocean from the garden. There I purchased a beautiful little succulent that I plan on keeping in my room.

So overall, I had a lovely, wonderful summer, busier than my other’s had been, and it was really fun.

I'm very selective about who I spend my time with.:

As school starts, I’ll be busier, but hopefully still be able to type out some posts. I wish you all luck and God’s blessings as you start your own school adventures.

  1. Even though you didn’t take these pictures, you found some lovely ones. 😛
And that painting. O.O I didn’t even know you painted! xP That’s gorgeous! ^-^ *hugs the painting (gently)*

Heh. I must’ve taken your swimming, then, because I swam several times this year, which is a whole lot more than I usually do (which is not at all). It was fabulous.

    Frozen yogurt is awesome. ^-^

Oh! Strawberries are definitely better than watermellon. I like watermellon (even though it gives me a little bit of a sore throat—I have a mild latex allergy), but I love strawberries. ^-^ I like tart fruits.

But. Seriously. That painting. xD I would hang that on my wall. xP It’s epic.

    1. Thanks.
Aww, shucks, thanks even more *pats your back in gratitude while you soil painting*
      Haha, yeah.
It is. The fuel of champions, basically. Or perhaps just the fuel of delightful young ladies.
      *blushes* Thank you so much!

  2. Awwhhh, all these summer wrap up posts are making me slightly sad that school is starting and such, but fall IS my favorite season, so i am looking forward to that. 😀

    1. Yes, I know what you mean. Yeah, autumn would be great if school wasn’t apart of it, haha.
Amen, mmmm chocolate-dipped strawberries are so scrumptious!
